Guide to the NanoMixer’s Microfluidic Chip
Guide to the NanoMixer’s Microfluidic Chip

The NanoMixer is a laboratory scale microfluidic mixer. The NanoMixer forms uniform and reproducible nanoparticles using a microfluidic chip.
How It Works
The NanoMixer mixes fluids on the chip using controlled pressure.

First, the injection module pushes liquids into the chip. Then, liquids flow through micron scale channels in the chip to combine at junctions in the chip module.
This results in uniform and stable nanoparticles with narrow size distribution. The NanoMixer can also be used to increase solubility.
Chip Basics
Genizer’s microfluidic chips are made of reusable stainless steel. This reduces consumable costs compared to competitor equipment with disposable chips.
The top can be unscrewed and membrane removed for easy cleaning of the microfluidic channels. Chips can be sterilized under standard autoclaving conditions at 121°C for 20 minutes.
There are temperature control options appropriate for sensitive biopharmaceutical applications and for stabilizing reaction conditions.
Configurations
The microfluidic chips have options for dual, triple, or quadruple component blending.

We offer Y, X and S shaped configuration options.

Y-Shape
The Y-shaped chip is the focusing chip. It has:
X-Shape
The X-shaped chip is the split and recombine chaotic mixing chip. It has:
S-Shape
The S-shaped chip is the serpentine chaotic mixing chip. It has:
Conclusion
Microfluidic chips for the NanoMixer are reusable, easy to clean, and come in multiple configurations to suit differing applications. Reach out to our team at info@genizer.com to get a quote today!

Y-Shape
The Y-shaped chip is the focusing chip. It has:
- Fastest mixing
- Low flow resistance
- Most stable final particle size & encapsulation efficiency
X-Shape
The X-shaped chip is the split and recombine chaotic mixing chip. It has:
- the strongest mixing
- excellent batch-to-batch stability
- high tolerance for high-viscosity or complex multi-component systems.
S-Shape
The S-shaped chip is the serpentine chaotic mixing chip. It has:
- moderate mixing efficiency
- medium flow resistance
